HYDERABAD — The Telangana State Cabinet is scheduled to convene today at 3:00 PM at the State Secretariat in Hyderabad. Chaired by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the high-level meeting is expected to deliberate on several critical administrative, infrastructural, and political matters currently facing the state administration.
With key political decisions and major public sector welfare measures on the agenda, today's session is anticipated to yield decisive outcomes affecting state government employees, urban transit commuters, and upcoming electoral strategies.
Relief Expected for Government Employees and Pensioners
Among the top priorities on the Cabinet's agenda is a suite of pending decisions concerning state government personnel and pensioners.
Alongside the DA updates, discussions will focus on the recommendations submitted by the Pay Revision Commission (PRC). Ministers are expected to evaluate employee grievances, outstanding financial dues, and the clearance of pending bills that have been repeatedly highlighted by public sector associations. Finalizing a structured roadmap to settle these long-standing employee demands remains a primary objective for the government during this session.
Roadmap for Hyderabad Metro Phase-1 Takeover and Expansion
Urban transit infrastructure in the capital region will form another cornerstone of today’s Cabinet deliberations. The ministers are slated to assess and approve strategic plans regarding the state government's proposed acquisition of Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-1.
Furthermore, detailed discussions will take place concerning the financing and execution of the Phase-2 expansion project.
Strategic Deliberations on Upcoming Elections
Beyond governance and administrative affairs, the Council of Ministers will address political preparations for upcoming polling contests in the state. The Cabinet is expected to outline its strategic approach for the Graduate MLC elections.
Additionally, ministers will review preparations and political coordination ahead of the Khairatabad assembly constituency by-election. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is anticipated to align ministerial responsibilities to ensure cohesive administrative and political execution across the state moving forward.
