Solar Plants Inaugurated in Jaggannapet
MULUGU: Two household solar power plants were inaugurated in Jaggannapet village of the mandal under the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme.
State Minister Seethakka, accompanied by the district collector, formally launched the solar installations at two homes in the village. Each household has been provided with a solar power plant with a capacity of 2 kilowatts.
Following the inauguration, Seethakka interacted with the beneficiaries and spoke to them about the newly installed solar systems.
The installations are part of efforts to encourage the use of solar energy in rural areas through the Prime Minister Surya Ghar scheme.
2-kilowatt Systems Installed at Two Homes
The two solar power plants were set up on individual residential buildings, with each installation having a generation capacity of 2 kilowatts.
After inaugurating the systems, Minister Seethakka met the beneficiary families. The interaction followed the formal launch of the plants in Jaggannapet.
The initiative places household-level solar power at the centre of efforts to expand the use of renewable energy in rural communities.
The programme is also intended to support access to electricity while encouraging households in rural areas to make greater use of solar energy.
Village Federation Building Also Opened
During the visit, Seethakka also inaugurated the Sri Seetharamula Village Federation building in Jaggannapet.
The building was constructed with ₹10 lakh allocated under the employment guarantee scheme for the 2026–27 financial year.
The inauguration of the facility marked another development initiative in the village, alongside the launch of the two household solar power plants.
Focus on Rural Infrastructure and Solar Energy
Officials said the government is implementing several programmes aimed at promoting solar electricity use in rural areas while also improving basic infrastructure for residents.
The initiatives in Jaggannapet combine household-level renewable energy installations with the development of a community facility.
The two solar plants, each with a 2-kilowatt capacity, were launched under the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, while the Sri Seetharamula Village Federation building was completed using ₹10 lakh from the 2026–27 employment guarantee scheme funds.
The projects were inaugurated during Seethakka’s visit to Jaggannapet, where she was joined by the district collector for the launch of the solar installations and the village federation building.
